About UKILP

Who We Are

The UK INDIA LEGAL PARTNERSHIP (UKILP) is an organisation representing the interests of lawyers; in-house lawyers, jurists and judges between India and the United Kingdom. It’s purpose include to:

  • Advance awareness, education and training in the practice of law between India and the United Kingdom.
  • Facilitate interaction and exchanges between Indian and British lawyers to the enhancement of legal and economic understanding and strengthening ties between India and the United Kingdom.
  • Provide a series of networking, business and social events.
  • Create a networking platform for the young lawyers to interact, exchange and share legal and economic knowledge between India and the United Kingdom.
  • Identify, recognise and celebrate achievement of individuals and organisations in the field of law between India and the United Kingdom.

Our Mission

UKILP is committed to promote:

  • Co-operation and understanding between the legal systems of India and the United Kingdom.
  • Professional standards, exchange of ideas, experience and learning between the lawyers, in-house lawyers, jurists and judges between the two countries

Since our launch membership of the organisation has grown exponentially and we have received excellent support from peer groups in both countries.

Advisory Board

We are led by our advisory board comprising of lawyers, in-house lawyers, jurists and  judges, who have extensive experience between India and the United Kingdom.

Membership

We understand that the economic relations between India and the United Kingdom continues to outgrow national boundaries and are getting more sophisticated, complex and demanding, and hence are the related legal issues. UKILP attracts membership from individuals and organisation with special focus on emerging laws and regulations.

UKILP membership is open to members of legal profession in India and the United Kingdom. Our membership is in three categories:

  • Corporate membership (restricted to 20 members only)
  • Individual membership
  • Law college membership (restricted to 20 members only)
  • Young lawyers and student membership
  • Institutional membership (subject to advisory board approval)
